Process

Silkscreen printing is a type of printing in which a stencil is used to make an image on a surface like paper or fabric. The stencil is put on the backing material, as well as ink is forced through the stencil and onto the substrate, leaving the picture behind. This kind of printing has been around for hundreds of years and is still used to make images that stand out. Silkscreen printing is a flexible and inexpensive way to print on many different kinds of materials. People often use it to put on T-shirts, posters, and other things.

- Begin with a high-resolution digital design for the T-shirt. - Prepare custom design in ready-to-print condition to meet individual preferences.

- Transfer the design onto a fine mesh screen coated with photosensitive emulsion. - Exposure to UV light cures and hardens the emulsion, creating a stencil of the design on the screen that allows ink or dye to pass through.

- Position the prepared screen over the T-shirt, ensuring accurate alignment for every T-shirt to ensure good printing quality result. - Use specialized inks or rubber dye for fabric printing, considering factors like color vibrancy, fabric materials, durability etc.

- Apply the ink to the screen and use a squeegee to evenly distribute it over the design stencil. - This application process allows the ink to pass through the screen onto the T-shirt, creating the desired printing pattern.

- Printed garments are leave to air dry for at least 12 hours before the curing process to ensure there is no moisture trapped inside the ink

- Cure the printed T-shirt using heat press machine to set the ink permanently. - This process is essential to ensure colorfastness and durability, making it long-lasting even after multiple washes.

As you can see, Silk Screen Printing is a long and complicated process and all these steps are essential to ensure quality prints. Many printers often skip some of the steps to save production time and cost, but risking a quality issue in the final printing output.
